Since 1882, membership in the Knights of Columbus has been open to men 18 years of age or older who are “practical” (that is, practicing) Catholics in union with the Holy See. Since that time, the Knights of Columbus has understood “practical catholic” to mean a Catholic who accepts the teaching authority of the Catholic Church on matters of faith and morals, aspires to live in accord with the precepts of the Catholic Church, and is in good standing in the Catholic Church.

Joining the Knights of Columbus Dr. Thomas A. Dooley Council 5492 is very simple. It only takes a few steps and a few minutes of your time. The steps are as follows:

• Access the Online Registration form on the Knights of Columbus website by clicking the link below.
• Enter your information for each section which includes State/Province, Name, email, Birth Date (MM/DD/YYYY), Preferred Language, Agent Referral Code (GBennett), answer three other questions, then click on the CAPTCHA box.
• The PROCEED TO JOIN box will become highlighted. Click there and another page will open.
• During this process you will be asked to specify the Council you wish to join. In response to this request enter 5492, the number for the Dooley Council.
• Follow the remaining steps to complete your application.
• Once your information has been reviewed by the K of C a notification will be sent to the Grand Knight and Membership Director, of the Dooley Council, to advise them. They will contact you, shortly thereafter, to congratulate you and discuss your next steps.
